You don’t have to keep swapping your SD card between your PC and your Wii. A program called RiiFS (info) allows you to connect to your computer to your Wii over a wireless connection.

Download ‘RiiFS_nsmbmods.zip‘ and extract the contents to your computer. Replace the current XML file in your riivolution folder (on your SD card) with the one called ‘RIIFS XML (Put me on SD card).xml‘. Now open up the file with Notepad. You need to change the part that reads “address=”192.168.0.2″” to match your IP. Go to Run (Winkey+R) and type ‘cmd’. This will launch the command prompt. At the command prompt, type ‘ipconfig’. One of the lines will read “IP Address . . . 192.168.178.13″, or something similar. Replace “192.168.0.2″ with what ipconfig says your IP is. If you’re running Windows 7, it will say ‘IPv4 Address’.

If you’re not running Windows 7, your IPConfig will have a lot less information.
Put your levels or patches or whatever in either ‘nsmb_A’ or ‘nsmb_B’. Now load Riivolution and start riifs.exe, enable either ‘Folder A’ or ‘Folder B’ (depending on where your patches are), and you’ll see RiiFS go to work. If you want to try a different file, just put your new files in ‘nsmb_A’ or’ nsmb_B’ and restart Riivolution. Some files are loaded every time they’re used.
Look at what RiiFS is loading to find out what’s loading and when. You might be able to swap files without restarting Riivolution. You can modify your existing XML to connect to RiiFS by adding this line to it: <network protocol=”riifs” address=”192.168.1.1″ port=”1137″ />
holy crap this is gold! just what I was looking for :)
