Make Your Own Mods! (NSMB ISO Files)

Want to make your own textures but don’t have the game files? Well now you can. Below are downloads for the ‘Objects’ and ‘WorldMap’ folders as well as a bunch of other game elements, straight from the NSMBw ISO, ripe for modding. For Objects you can either download the entire ‘Objects’ folder, which contains backgrounds and objects for the entire game, or download from a selection of the coolest, most modifiable individual files. Check out the file descriptions in the ‘individual files’ folder for more info regarding each file.

‘Elements’ contains stuff like save file banners and character selection icons (see file notes). Each individual file has a description. WorldMap contains information for the world maps and world selection screens.

Objects: zip | individual files
WorldMap: zip
Game elements: individual files
Fonts: font packs

Quick downloads
Mario | Luigi | Toads | Bowser
Yoshi 1 | Yoshi 2 | Yoshi 3 | Yoshi 4
Bowser Jr | Iggy | Larry | Lemmy | Ludwig | Morton | Roy | Wendy |

File Notes
‘Game element’ files of note are ‘Message’ (NTSC/PAL, which can be edited in SZS Modifier to change game text; ‘preGame‘, which changes world banners on level load; and ‘openingTitle’ (NTSC/PAL, which contains the title screen logo (and must be edited using Wii.cs tools). You can change the game cursor and character icons too.

When editing Yoshi textures (in ‘Objects’ on your ISO), note that Yoshis 2, 3 and 4 share the same data but have different textures. This means you can save time and make a Yoshi texture for Yoshis 1 and 2, then copy and rename the Yoshi 2 textures (Y_TexYellow.arc) to Yoshi 3 and 4 (Y_TexRed.arc and Y_TexBlue.arc).

If you need to know what files are where on the disc, go here to view the entire contents (in text form) of the NSMB (PAL) ISO.

  4. darkly77 says:

That sounds unusual. Are you sure it wasn't an advert? If it was, there would be a little red minus sign to get rid of it, or reloading the page may work too.

there not ISO files what do i do to extract them?

  12. darkly77 says:

These are files taken from the NSMBw ISO. You can mod them and patch the game, either with Riivoloution if you're using a console, or if you're using an ISO with WiiScrubber for individual files (not recommended, as ISOs stop working if they're modded too much) or in bulk (a whole ISO at once) using Pikazapper's method here. If you want to get an ISO, you'll need to look elsewhere I'm afraid! I recommend using Riivolution, it's both reliable and legal.

    Can you upload the ISO?

  14. Martin says:

The Mario.arc link takes me to mediafire home, not the download

  15. darkly77 says:

I won't upload any original game ISOs. I don't know about the legality of some of the stuff linked to on here, but I know linking to an ISO could probably get us shut down. There are plenty of places to find an ISO. Also Mario.arc has been fixed :

I downloaded the worldmap zip file, and every time I try to open a file (with reggie because its an .arc file) I either get an error message or it opens 01-01. Am I doing anything wrong? Can this be fixed? Thanks

  17. Anonymous says:

what you did wrong was open it with reggie, reggie is for editing levels not textures just because its an .arc file does not mean its reggie compatable. Open it with szs modifier then you should be able to change the textures.

  18. Anonymous says:

could you upload the stage folder

  19. Anonymous says:

here's the deal. you need the stage folder for reggie. you've come to right place! i struggled for 4 months trying to work reggie. so i dedicated my life on helping others. so get the homebrew channel. find an online guide that'll help.
